Bagging It
I got such a response last week about bags, I thought I would bring some of the other suggestions regarding reuseable cloth bags to the front page. Bags can also be found at enviro-tote: http://www.enviro-tote.com/cloth-grocery-bags.html
Bags made from organic cotton can be found at http://www.thisnext.com/item/209E6656/Organic-Cotton-Reusable
Finally, my friend Maril, pointed out on comments that they now make biodegradeable plastic trash bags. Check out: www.1bagatatime.com and http://www.ecobags.com/
Today's Tip:
If just 5 of the families reading this blog would use reuseable cloth bags, assuming you use at least 5 plastic bags per week, it would save 1,300 plastic bags this year alone from the landfill.
Check out Going Green in the Ozarks on Wednesday when I start in the kitchen looking for ways to be more friendly to the environment.

Hi Kerri,

Thanks for the inspiring posts about actually doing something about plastic waste. Recycling is an ongoing effort, and I think people, myself included, get overwhelmed with here's one more thing to do/figure out. I think municipalities and utility companies should do a lot more to educate the public.
